Psychoeducational Evaluations
School years can bring about lots of changes and discoveries as a child develops, including challenges that affect academics, self-confidence, relationships, and emotional wellness. Psychoeducational Evaluations can help clear the cobwebs when it comes to understanding your child’s or teen’s struggles at school (and everywhere else too).
Available locally in Coral Springs, Florida as well as virtually in more than 43 states.
By assessing areas like intelligence, executive functioning, academic achievement, personality, and emotional/behavioral health, these assessments give an in-depth view of your child’s challenges and their strengths.
With this knowledge, parents, care givers, and educators can create a collaborative plan that meets your child where they are now. Psychoeducational testing can help diagnose:
- ADHD
- Dyslexia
- Autism
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Other Learning Disabilities and Mood Disorders
Psychoeducational Evaluations Bring Clarity
Educational Evaluations don’t just identify challenges, they provide clarity in the middle of confusion. It can be difficult to pinpoint the root cause when a child is struggling. These assessments can help decipher if the cause is a learning disability, emotional stress, or something else entirely.
A comprehensive look into the cause can take the guesswork out and usher in concrete answers and actionable strategies to help your child. This clarity shifts parent and teacher focus from WHY is this happening to HOW they can best support the child’s needs with the right accommodations
Every child is different and each has their own unique learning style. As a parent, having a clear understanding of what that looks like will help you best support your child in every stage of development. Whether that means uncovering educational struggles, gifted abilities, or even the need for a non-traditional homeschool setting, Gold Psych Services’ psychoeducational evaluations can give you the insight you need to help your child grow with confidence.
Learning Differences
When a child is struggling in school, it can be difficult to know if the cause is boredom and lack of motivation, their environment, or a learning disability. Many learning differences can slip in under the radar.
Some of these include:
- Dyslexia – difficulty with reading, spelling, and decoding words
- Dyscalculia – difficulty with math concepts, number sense, and calculations
- Dysgraphia – difficulty with handwriting, spelling, and organizing written work
- ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) – challenges with attention, focus, and impulse control
- Auditory Processing Disorder – trouble understanding or remembering verbal information
- Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD) – strengths in language but struggles with visual-spatial tasks, organization, or social cues
Educational testing helps to give clarity and distinguishes between typical ups-and-downs in skill development and patterns that point to something more.
Homeschool Evaluations
For families who choose to homeschool, these evaluations serve three purposes:
- Measuring Progress
- Meeting State Guidelines
- Understanding your child’s learning profile to guide teaching
I provide supportive, professional evaluations for homeschoolers of all ages by offering these services.
Academic Progress Evaluations
An academic progress evaluation is offered for homeschooled students whose parents are looking for an assessment of their students' current level of achievement or academic progress in the areas of reading, writing, spelling, and math.
Academic progress evaluations are also offered for students enrolled as a Personalized Education Program (PEP) scholarship student needing end-of-year testing to submit to the state.
For your convenience, I am a DIRECT PAY provider for the Step-Up for Students scholarship in Florida. Depending on which scholarship your child has been awarded (FES-UA, FTC/FES-EO, PEP), 100% of the cost of testing may be covered.
Annual Homeschool Portfolio
An annual homeschool portfolio review is offered for homeschooled students who need to submit to the county an annual notification of academic progress based on a portfolio review by a licensed psychologist.
Gifted Testing
Gifted Testing for ages 5-18 is designed to identify advanced cognitive abilities and can provide guidance about school placement. At Gold Psych Services, these evaluations use standardized IQ assessments and sometimes include achievement testing for a well-rounded view of your child’s learning profile.
Testing is typically completed in one to two hours and results can help inform decisions about educational setting, enrichment opportunities, and the right support for nurturing your child’s unique strengths and abilities.
We are proud to accept the Step-Up Scholarship!
I am an approved Direct Pay provider for the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) through Step Up For Students. This means eligible families can apply their scholarship funds directly toward psychological testing and evaluations without needing to pay upfront and wait for reimbursement. For students from age 3 through grade 12 (or up to age 22, whichever comes first), this program helps make high-quality evaluations more accessible by covering costs associated with diagnosing and understanding learning differences, ADHD, autism, and other unique needs. By partnering with the FES-UA program, I am able to ensure families in Florida have a clearer path to the answers, strategies, and support their children need to thrive.
Why Choose Gold Psych Services?
I am committed to providing evaluations that do more than diagnose; they also deliver understanding and direction. The comprehensive testing mixed with clear guidance and practical strategies help children and teens thrive with confidence at any stage of development.
By highlighting both strengths and challenges, my evaluations give families clarity to advocate for the services they need at school, explore scholarship opportunities, and have access to the right resources for long-term success.
